The Association of the friends of the Saharawi Republic (AA-RASD) called on the Moroccan authorities on Monday to "come back to reason by stopping their repressive policy" against the Saharawi people, who are "uprising for their legitimate right to self-determination".

Morocco "reveals its strategic impotence to finish the problem of the Western Sahara conforming to the international law", underlined Mrs. Régine Villemont, President of the AA-RASD, in a press release of which SPS received a copy.

She stressed that "after having experienced a big failure in promoting its project of autonomy for the Western Sahara before the international community, Morocco is trying to eradicate all forms of opposition in the Non-Self-Governing territory via adopting a repression that goes back with the Saharawis to the gloomy years of the precedent Moroccan reign".

Mme Villemont gave many examples of the Moroccan atrocities, including the cases of the Saharawi human rights activist, Brahim Sabbar, the cases of the last attacks against the Saharawi students in the Moroccan universities and the heavy sentences they were condemned to by the Moroccan colonial courts.
