The President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, signed on Saturday at the presidency, the protocol of constitution of African Union’s North Africa peace and security regiment.

The ceremony was attended by two Libyan emissaries, Colonel Nafathi Faitouri Zarass and Mr. Salem El Mebrouk Salem, in the presence of the staff of the Saharawi Liberation Army and other Saharawi cadres.

The Head of the State had had a meeting before with the two Libyan emissaries. They discussed about the relations of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries and peoples and about the ways and means that would set up peace and security in Africa, an official Saharawi source indicated.

Charged by the African Union to coordinate the creation of the North African regiment, Libya has already collected the signatures of the Libyan President, Mouammar Kadhafi, Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and the Saharawi President, Mohamed Abdelaziz.

The emissaries of Kadhafi will also have to get the signatures of Tunisia and Mauritania. (SPS)
